What to expect at your first appointment

Our programs are designed to boost your confidence, and give you all the skills and knowledge to self-manage your condition long-term.

Your initial assessment will be around 60 minutes long.

During this time we:

  • Have an in-depth discussion so we can understand your medical history, current health and physical status

  • Take a holistic approach to your health care, discuss other health variables such as diet, sleep and stress

  • Discuss your exercise and physical activity levels both current and past, and collaborate with you to knock down your barriers, establish a healthy relationship with movement and create sustainable and long-term habits

  • Complete a physical assessment looking at your vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation), and may involve but not limited to: cardiovascular fitness, strength, physical function, balance, mobility, range of motion, body composition

  • Provide education regarding the role and benefit of exercise & physical activity in context to you and your health

  • Collaborate with you to establish an exercise intervention to ultimately improve your health, wellbeing and quality of life

With all this information gathered, we will design and prescribe an evidence based exercise program tailored to you.

We work alongside health care providers in the community and will refer to our colleagues, should we feel you may benefit from another health care discipline to optimise your health outcomes.

From here, depending on your needs, preferences and goals, we can deliver in-person based exercise or digital/telehealth based interventions.
